...I'm being stalked by my own clumsiness....
While stepping off the bus to go to my mother's hairdressers appointment, in an attempt to remain semi-dry, we decided it would be smart to share an umbrella. Seeing as it was coming down in buckets I said "hey ma, let's walk a little faster." My mother interpreted this to mean, "let's kick up our heels and make a maddash across the parking lot(aka:pool) to where it is dry!" Turns out that her way won, and while she kicked up her heels she tripped me in the process and I went sprawling to the ground. I ripped my glorious new pants (I'd worn them TWICE!), opened up my knee and got soaked to the bone and then some. Mom said: "It's not my fault. You're so clumsy." Two weeks ago I was coming home from work when I happened across a penny on the road. I am under the assumption (superstition) that one cannot just step on or over a penny without picking it up and saying the age-old rhyme "See a penny, pick it up, all day long, have good luck!" It's corny and stupid, I'm sure, but I do this relentlessly. While I was picking up said penny (which was supposed to give me good luck!) I lost my balance and lurched forward. In an attempt to NOT fall on my face, I put my elbows out and scraped my elbow raw as well as my dignity. One week ago I went to visit my niece and came across her helping my brother pick dead things out of the pool skimmer. In her hand she had a dead frog and a dead grasshopper and she was eager to show her Auntie Splinter. While I traipsed around the edge of the inground pool my toe snagged on a piece of the cement and I stumbled forward. In an attempt to right myself I grabbed the nearest thing (NO it's wasn't my niece!) to steady myself. This nearest thing turned out to be a baby pine tree. It hurt as my hand slid all the way down that bristly branch. Today I went grocery shopping as my parents are out of town for the next 5ish days. In order to return to the coolness of my office, I rushed up the escalator stairs and tripped. I scraped the same damn leg with the busted open knee. My knee is now healed, however I have a new collection of scrapes to accompany my scarred knee. This has been the most boring entry I've ever written, and that's including my first entry of this diary. I've been thinking that I might recycle some really old entries from previous years/diaries so it looks like I post everyday. Hey! What happened? A friend of mine whom I am growing closer to every day has started reading this diary. I'm trying very hard not to censor myself and keep the "no holds barred!" theme going. So bear with me if you sense a slight change in my writing. It will most likely only be temporary (this change in writing). And might I add, the most annoying thing here at work is that I cannot use my favourite ALT-TAB method of flipping between windows. I have to use the frigging mouse. *sigh* Factoids If you notice, I have a URL over to the left linking to my 86 Factoids page. I will be revamping this page in the coming days and will let you know when I am done. I'm sure I will come up with more than 86 facts. Maybe 87. And I might keep some of the same facts because they are a true testament to who I am. Or because I'm lazy.
